Sony Demonstrates Playstation Vita’s Facial Recognition Software.
At the Game Tools & Middleware Forum in Tokyo, Sony displayed a small tech demo of the augmented reality and facial recognition capabilities the Playstation Vita has. The Vita’s camera can detect and copy the facial movements of the person using the device and display it on screen through a colorful looking avatar. Although it’s a bit glitchy, it’s great improvement over the Logitech orbit camera that I have and that’s about 3 years old. Check out the tech demo video below:
I still can’t get the grasp at how fast the technology of augmented reality and facial recognition is going. I wonder how developed it would be five years from now.
