Just today, G4 announced that Team Meat, the designers behind the wildly successful and challenging Super Meat Boy are working on a new game. Details at the moment are extremely limited, but Team Meat co-founder Edmund McMillen told Eurogamer that this new game would take a much more experimental direction. Currently, there is no word on the type of game that Team Meat is working on, or what system or systems the game would be for.
“We’re going to approach the next game in the same way we did Meat Boy. We’re just going to make a game and if it works on whatever system it works on then good, but we’re not designing this game with a specific system in mind.” McMillen said, in his interview with Eurogamer.
Super Meat Boy was a wonderful platformer with delightful characters, dark humor, and plenty of homages to classic video games. The game has won several online awards, and has received many positive reviews by gamers and critics alike. So, it’s plain to see why we’re all so excited to see where Team Meat is going with this new game.
