Bungie has just announced their newest venture and it is not a game, but before you sigh with disappointment know that games are still coming, just not directly from Bungie. Instead Bungie will be using its new platform, Bungie Aerospace, to, “support, foster, and elevate like-minded, independent developers.” focused on mobile and social games.
The first developer to partner with Bungie Aerospace is Harebrained Schemes, “a small group of wildly talented people, crammed into a closet, making whatever cool thing inspires [them] next.” Harebrained Schemes is led by Jordan Weisman, who is responsible for a number of incredibly popular titles, such as the Alternate Reality game I Love Bees which was made to promote the release of Halo 2 back in 2004.
The first mobile game to come from this promising partnership is a title called Crimson which has been given as Summer 2011 launch on iOS and Android devices. While no details were given for this new game, more has been promised in the near future.
