Blow it out your Mac! Duke Nukem Forever for Mac

by on June 27, 2011

Slated for an August release, Duke Nukem Forever, the critically-panned game by Gearbox will be making a new venture to the Mac.

“We are thrilled to play a part in bringing this gaming experience to the Mac. Duke Nukem Forever represents many of the best aspects of gaming: shooting aliens, saving ladies in distress, and great tag-lines. We think Mac gamers will love taking a bite of Duke’s special pain cake.” – Michael Rogers, President of Aspyr Media

Whatever this pain cake is, it better be good on an Apple computer. Known for being in development Hell for over a decade, Mac users will finally be able to take control of Duke (or lack thereof). Pre-order now from Steam and you’ll also be able to get a 10% discount.

Mac users, you can now all rejoice in getting a real Duke Nukem video game in place of your DN soundboard you downloaded from the App Store.

You know, I need to point out that I was always expecting DNF to be hated the moment Gearbox announced it was actually getting released. This is because, after 15 years, you can’t live up to the expectations built, no matter how good the game is.

And it wasn’t good, but even if it had been, I’m guessing it would have been received about the same

I like that the PR folks for the game stated that there needs to be no apology by them and they stand by how great the game is.
