Codemasters Hacked. Again.
Codemasters, known for such games as Dirt and Formula 1, was hacked back at the end of May, 2011 and it would seem that, not satisfied with one attempt to breach security, hackers have made a second attempt.
Continuing a recent trend of attacks against video game companies, Codemasters has been hacked not once, but twice as of June 3. While nothing vital was compromised during the first attempt to gain access to secure information, this time quite a bit of information was compromised including members names, addresses, usernames, encrypted passwords, IP addresses and email addresses. Neither credit cards nor payment information made the list, Codemasters assured customers in an email.
Shortly after administrators noticed the breach, the official Codemasters website was taken offline. No announcement has been made on when the company plans to bring the website back online, and all users are now being redirected to the official Codemasters Facebook page.
