E3 2011: MEET VINCENT, THE STAR OF THE UPCOMING ACTION-ADVENTURE/PUZZLE GAME CATHERINE FROM ATLUS, IN THIS NEW TRAILER (ALSO: NEW SCREENSHOTS!)
Meet Vincent. Just try not to bring up relationships with him…
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — JUNE 8, 2011 — ATLUS today released a new trailer (in addition to a new batch of screenshots) spotlighting Vincent, the star of the upcoming action-adventure/puzzle game Catherine, coming July 26, 2011 for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system (PS3™) and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
The video–which introduces viewers to the likeable if at times disappointing Vincent, the 32-year old protagonist at the heart of the game’s tale of love, betrayal, and the terrors of commitment–paints a more detailed picture of his life, his state of mind, and his interpersonal dilemmas.
“Vincent is very far from the typical video game protagonist,” stated Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at ATLUS. “He is indecisive. He is unsure of where he wants his relationship with Katherine, his girlfriend, to go. Very often, he seems incapable of doing the right thing at the right time, allowing complications–the very things he is so keen to keep his life free of–to multiply. Learning more about Vincent and his motivations is the perfect way to gain a better understanding of Catherine’s core philosophy and narrative themes.”
Catherine is currently scheduled to release on July 26, 2011 for PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360 system with an MSRP of $59.99 for the standard edition and $79.99 for the limited-run “Love Is Over” Deluxe Edition (available at participating retailers, while supplies last). Fans are encouraged to pre-order to receive the Catherine Sound Disc & Art Book, a free extra available to customers who reserve either the standard or deluxe edition of the game for either platform.
Fans are also invited to visit the recently launched full official website (http://www.catherinethegame.com), which features a wealth of screenshots, video, detailed game information, and much more. Moreover, visitors can return every day to send and receive texts with Catherine using the site’s Cellphone feature, a nod to the one that appears in the game, potentially getting a response from her with secret artwork!
