Ubisoft E3 Conference Brief

by on June 6, 2011

The Ubisoft E3 2011 Press Conference just ended and Ubisoft brought some solid games to the table this year.  All together there were twelve games showcased:

Rayman Origin will feature multiplayer co-op and is a classic 2D sidescrolling platformer.  There was some actual gameplay of Rayman and it looked good, a solid Rayman game in line with older games of the same name.

Driver: San Fransisco was shown but only as a CG trailer, unfortunately there was no gameplay but Driver: San Fransisco will feature fast cars in an urban setting.

FarCry 3 showcased some gameplay with cover fire, and a daring escape that seemed to fail.

Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 had no gameplay, but looks slightly reminiscent of Inglorious Basterds.  The trailer featured four soldiers in a bar filled with Nazi soldiers, which  the Four proceed to kill in interesting and painful ways.

The Adventures of TinTin: The Game had clips from an interview with Steven Spielberg, and is a tie-in to a movie of the same name.  Colorful platformer with multiple playable characters.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online were both shown.  Future Soldier had gameplay that featured multiplayer in a heavily populated area, with an emphasis on coordinated attacks and action kills.  Online will be free to play, PC only.  There will be cross platform achievement transfers.

Trackmania 2: Canyon showed off new tracks and races for the PC.  Release is set for September 2011.

Raving Rabbids: Alive and Kicking will work with Kinect and be mini-games in keeping with the other Raving Rabbids games.

Just Dance 3 will be compatable with Kinect, PlayStation Move and, of course, the Wii and is set to release in October 2011.

Rocksmith will allow players to use a real electric guitar, for those who actually can play guitar already.  Rocksmith will be out in the Fall 2011.

Your Shape: Fitness Evolved will be an upgraded version of the exercise game that is already out, no release was given.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelation started with a new story-driven CG trailer which featured an older Ezio fighting off waves of Templars and then moved to a gameplay trailer that showed upgraded combat, a flame thrower and Ezio running, climbing and jumping around burning ships and debris.  Look for Revelation in November 2011.
