Halo: Combat Evolved Remake Revealed

Moments ago at Microsoft’s E3 press conference, the company finally unveiled Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, which is an HD remake of the original Halo.

With it being the 10-year anniversary of the game, players will get a handful of new features, including online play and even a Classic mode that has the original artwork for the game.  The remake will use the graphics engine from Halo: Reach.

There will be six multiplayer maps from the original game as well as the “Damnation” map from Halo 2, while Firefight mode will also be included.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is scheduled for a November 15 release.

I’m sure some Halo fanboy cried somewhere, out there……while wearing his cardboard spartan armor.

I have fond memories of the original Halo, but all of those are of me and college buddies staying up all night killing each other with rockets on system link. Not sure I will enjoy the remake as much, as the experience will be vastly different.

The original is still my favorite of the series, so I will pick this up. But this will likely be my last Halo purchase, unless 343 Industries does something drastic with Halo 4.
