Sony’s E3 Presser Streaming on PS Home

Sony announced this morning plans to stream their E3 2011 press conference live, inside of a special screening room within PlayStation Home.

The live feed will be shown at 5 p.m. PT on June 6.

Additionally, Sony will also give gamers a chance to check out their E3 booth via PlayStation Home, featuring game trailers, previews and more, while being able to earn exclusive virtual items for participating.

Once their virtual tour is complete and all virtual items have been unlocked, users will be awarded access to the upstairs VIP area that will showcase specific PlayStation Home content, including the first level of the never-before-seen upcoming Scribble Shooter game as well as a virtual item package that features companions, furniture and ornaments.

Finally, the PlayStation.Blog team will be live streaming game demos and developer interviews direct from show floor throughout the expo, giving gamers an opportunity to check out all the great content at the E3 Expo this year.

Since I won’t be at this year’s show, I’ll be sure to catch it on PS Home.

That’s pretty convenient. Microsoft should have done that with their avatar system.
