No MGS5 At E3 This Year
But he does have something big planned for Metal Gear’s 25th anniversary next year!
In a recent interview with the legendary Hideo Kojima on his own company’s podcast, Kojima was straightforward and honest about his presence at E3 this year and the future of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Amusingly, every question was answered with a simple “yes” or “no. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like we will be getting much from Kojima this year at the expo, if his interview is to be believed. Below is the entire (yet brief) translated Q&A, provided by Andriasang.
Will you appear at the Microsoft E3 press conference?
Will you announce Metal Gear Solid 5?
Will Metal Gear Solid 3DS be released at the end of 2011?
Is Doctor Lautrec the new title from the Metal Gear staff?
Kojima: No (laughs)
Did Kojima Productions Not Work on Metal Gear Arcade?
Is Gray Fox the main character in Metal Gear Solid: Rising?
Will MGS Rising’s multiplayer be shown?
Is MGS Rising’s release date November 1, 2011?
Will Metal Gear Solid 4 be ported to NGP?
Are you planning something big for Metal Gear’s 25th anniversary next year?
To recap, we won’t be seeing anything regarding the next true sequel in the Metal Gear Solid franchise at E3 this year, though Metal Gear Solid: Rising is bound to make an appearance somewhere. However, Kojima definitely has something planned for his fans next year to commemorate the series’ big anniversary. Could it be Metal Gear Solid 5? A high definition remake of the original Metal Gear? Metal Gear Solid 4: Subsistenanciance or whatever silly name it might have? I guess we will have to wait and see for now.
