First Wave of Mortal Kombat DLC Incoming

by on May 26, 2011

When Ed Boon says, “Wait!”  You should always listen to Ed Boon.

Yesterday, the Mortal Kombat series head-honcho Ed Boon revealed on his Twitter feed that all seven “klassic kostumes” and fatalities that were retailer pre-order bonuses would be arriving to everyone shortly via DLC.  This came after a few cryptic tweets from Boon over the last few weeks claiming it was foolish to spend large amounts of money on these alternate outfits on eBay.  Some of the pre-order codes were selling for over $50 each on the popular auction site.

This first DLC pack will include the original costumes for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Ermac, Kitana, Jade, and Mileena, along with their respective fatalities.  Another DLC pack containing two new characters, Kenshi and Skarlett, was announced a while ago but still has no confirmed release date or price.  This “Klassic DLC” does not have pricing or timing yet either, but a trailer is scheduled to be released on Friday, May 27.  I’m sure we will find out more details then.

So until then, don’t blow your hard-earned cash on overpriced DLC codes on eBay.  Listen to Mr. Boon and wait, and you will surely be rewarded.
