As you might have discovered, the Xbox Live Marketplace went down earlier today for unscheduled maintenance. Because of the delay, Microsoft did not post any sort of press release detailing this Wednesday’s update. However, based on Major Nelson’s blog (in addition to the fact that it is now available for download), Atari’s new Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale was released as this week’s XBLA title for 1200 MS points:
“Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale offers engaging “hack and slash” gameplay, bringing an accessible version of Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition to life. Travel to the Dalelands of the Forgotten Realms, where the journey begins in the remote Desertsmouth Mountains. From the sulfuric catacombs of the mines of Tethyamar, to the dizzying heights of the Tower of the Void, Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale delivers an action packed challenge that will satisfy the most seasoned of adventurers.”
As an unabashed fan of D&D and console adventures such as Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance, I am definitely interested in picking up D&D: Daggerdale. It doesn’t seem as if there will be any other releases this week, but they did slash the prices on all Bethesda games’ DLC for this week only as well. That means you can get all of the Fallout 3 or Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion DLC packs at half the price this week. I highly recommend picking up a few of these if you don’t already own them… But stay away from the horse armor. For the love of God, don’t buy the horse armor.
