Black Ops: Escalation Zombie DLC: Call of the Dead
What happens when you add Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), Merle Dixon from the Walking Dead (Michael Rooker) and Machete (Danny Trejo) with some George A. Romero inspired ideas? The most awesome zombie DLC pack for Call of Duty…EVER.
Treyarch finally released some information about it’s latest zombie map (Call of the Dead) that will be part of the Escalation DLC coming out on May 3rd. Players will be dropped into an ice tundra setting subtly named “Siberian Island” while decapitating and mutilating all Soviet undead soldiers along the way who are surprisingly lead by a zombified version of George Romero.
Dave Anthony, Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Director says:
“This is Treyarch’s tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team.”
“It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whose passion and energy brought their characters instantly to life. Fans are going to love this.”
From the gameplay trailer it looks like there will be many new things added to the mode such as melee weapons (Danny Trejo slashing away at zombies with double machetes, yes please).
When Escalation was announced not too long ago, I didn’t really bother caring much about it. I was fine without the new multiplayer maps. This new zombie map has definitely got me intrigued and it’s back up on my radar. Fans of the zombie horror movie genre will really have a kick out of this.
The COD Black Ops: Escalation map pack will be released on May 3rd on Xbox Live and will be priced at 1,200 Microsoft points of $15 and will include 4 multiplayer maps (Zoo, Hotel, Convoy and Stockpile) along with Call of the Dead.
