Issues With PSN Continues to Irritate PS3 Users.
If things couldn’t get any worse for Sony, PlayStation 3 users are reporting connectivity issues with PlayStation Network on the Sony forums today. Earlier this week, Anonymous, a group of hackers, have declared war with Sony for interrupting the free flow of information, suing Jailbreakin’ legend Geo Hot and attempting to view the IP addresses of those who watched his videos. They have angered the online community of hackers and also Playstation 3 users who are at the receiving end of these attacks.
According to a post by a community team moderator at the sony forums, they’re currently looking into the problem and will update with more information when it becomes available. You can follow the guy on twitter @RabidWalker as he will be tweeting with info on there as well.
Another group reported by Playstation Lifestyle, Sony Recon, have been going after the big heads at Sony, looking to reveal a bunch of personal information that includes names, phone numbers, IP addresses and World of Warcraft Accounts (j/k). It seems that the group has already started attacking people, taking down the website of the company who’s handling Sony’s case and compiling information of the lawyers who are involved.
If I was running the company, I would have to pull back and rethink the situation. Suing someone for buying your product with their hard earned money and studying it to see what it’s capable of, shouldn’t be an available option. Sure…you have will hackers manipulating things making you feel like you’re losing money but this is a great opportunity for companies to come in and hire them to create security. I don’t know what I’m talking about but that’s something I’d try to do instead of suing potential attackers.
