Sony Working on a PlayStation Tablet

by on February 16, 2011

Sony has been working very hard on a new tablet that will carry the PlayStation name, and will run Android Honeycomb. This tablet is called the S1, and most likely going to be dedicated to the gaming world while carrying Sony PlayStation’s name.

 Details about the S1 include:

  • Having a curved edge surface which will make typing easier over extended periods of time. This will allow it to be able to sit on the lap of the user and be in a more comfortable position.
  • There will be a screen of 9.4 inches with the resolution being 1280 x 800
  • There will be an emitter to control Sony TV, a USB port, and also two cameras on the front and the back of the device.
  • Sony is still trying to figure out a way to top the competitor iPad, so in doing this they are bringing together multiple teams of Ericsson, PlayStation, and also VAIO from Sony to all contribute into this device.

Pricing of the S1 is going to be around $599 and will ship around September to go on sale near you.
