My redone look at the Zelda 64 beta, which is a very early version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

    Great video. I enjoyed your previous beta and Ura videos, but always felt they were a little short on content. So it’s great to see an upgrade. I would agree that Link’s fluidity and expanded set of techniques are much better. Honestly some of the alpha and beta sword techniques that hackers have discovered in the debug rom would have been awesome to see in the final game. I would disagree regarding the environments though. The fully polygonal castle town (and every town for that matter) would have been great, but we can’t really tell by these early trailers if they would have been better because they aren’t particularly developed. They don’t have very dynamic lighting and are generally very plain. Granted, Nintendo probably would have spruced this up a bit, but ultimately we don’t know if the pre-rendered backgrounds were necessary to make the game look decent.

      Thanks :D. And I can see what you’re saying about the environments, I still think that had these environments been finalized, and this game had come out and nintendo spruced them up, then they would look better by comparison. It’s just speculation, but what I like about this stuff is that it allows for a lot of speculation as to what have could of been.
