Well this is an rpg, so that’s not really an unusual thing. The reason it takes so long is because the characters are all separated for a time, and at around 15 hours(10 for people who didn’t grind) they start to come together, and the story gets interesting, for me anyways. For some it gets interesting sooner, and for some not at all. Comes down to preference.
Well, I could understand 2-4 hours to get interesting, like Heavy Rain, It was 1-2 hours because they needed to Establish Ethan Mars’ life, so you could understand how he lost it.
But 10-15 hours, thats ALOT. But I guess If Heavy Rain is like 12 hours with 2 hours of down time, than an RPG with like 1,000 hours of gameplay would have 10-15 hours of down time.
Well I spent about 80 hours on FF13, so the 15 hour warm up time was nothing. But it’s like I said, for some people it gets interesting at different points. Some are captivated from the start and others at later times.
I’ve had rpgs interest me 1 hour in, and others not interest me the entire 30+ hour game(Blue Dragon….). With that said, despite it taking a while for the story to get off the ground, I did enjoy it. Every Final Fantasy fanboy in the world disagrees with me. But it sucks to be them I guess.
