When Blizzard announced last month that the console version of Diablo III would arrive on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 3, many fans believed it would also be a launch title for the upcoming PlayStation 4.
Fans that were hoping for this to be true will be disappointed, however. Blizzard has announced that the PlayStation 4 version of Diablo IIIwon’t be available before 2014.
The reason for this was revealed during an interview with the developers. During this interview, they noted that the team has only recently received PlayStation 4 development kits, meaning that they would not have time to create the next-generation version of the game before the console launches.
There is good news, however, as the team explained that they want to attemptto innovate with the trackpad and share button. This means that PlayStation 4 gamers won’t just receive the exact same game that PlayStation 3 will be getting.
Blizzard also decided to warn fans that there is no guarantee that future expansion packs would be available on every platform at the same time, as the onus would be on making the most relevant versions of the packs for each device.
How will the team utilize the trackpad and share buttons?
Thanks, Diablo Fans!
