Sejiro Tomita was an employee who worked at Sony for 30 years before leaving to pursue his own projects.  According to Aussie-Gamer Tomita is suing Nintendo over the screen technology in the 3DS.

Sejiro Tomita claims that he met with Nintendo to show off his technology for glasses free 3D.  Tomita filed patents for the technology in 2008, years before Nintendo would release the glasses 3DS.  Tomita claims Nintendo stole his idea and is seeking damages.

Nintendo counters that their meeting with Tomita was only one of many meetings they hold with various inventors, and that by the time they met with Tomita, Nintendo had already had several meetings with Sharp, the company who provides the 3D screens for the 3DS.  Nintendo further claims that the technology used is different than what was prevented by Tomita.

Who is wrong and who is right?  A US District Court in Manhattan will be the one to decide.  We’ll post more info when it’s available.
