4319_300Welcome to the GotGame Daily News Update. Today is December 28th, 2012.

Tonight:

PS2 Finally Done

And More

But first a few quick news bytes.

Tomb Raider has been confirmed to have multiplayer today.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is on sale for 33% at Amazon.

Ouya Developer kits have been received by developers. See the unboxing video at below.

Tomba! 2 might be coming to the PSN

And Retro City Rampage is coming to XBLA on January 2.

Now back to your regularly scheduled news cast.

Some of Dead Space 3′s voice commands are going to be different than what you’re used to. Expletives, A.K.A. cursewords, are going to be included in the Kinect voice commands for the upcoming survival horror third person shooter game. Exectuive Producer for Dead Space 3, Steve Papoutsis said as much in an interview:

“We actually have some commands that people will need to figure out,” he explains, “But there are commands where you might be in a certain situation and you might yell a specific expletive and it might behave in a way that you want it to.”

I can’t wait to hear the news reports that parents are trying to get Dead Space 3 banned because of this.

It’s a sad day in Japan for fervent PS2 lovers. The console, after 12 years, is finally being discontinued. The PS2 has sold over 150 million units. It’s no surprise that they did this, it was going to happen eventually. No news about how this will affect shipments to other countries.

Finally, XBOX Live seems to have the flue. Outages and inconsistencies are affecting various apps on the XBOX 360. Joystiq reported earlier today that Netflix, HBO Go, and Hulu Plus were functioning. Not only are apps affected, but files saved in the cloud are as well. Users will see a “0x807b0198″ error when trying to access files saved in the cloud. Microsoft is currently working on the problem.

In my humble opinion, the PlayStation 2 is near the top of the list as one of the greatest home consoles of all time. It gave the gaming world Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Devil May Cry, God of War 1&2, Time Splitters and Gran Turismo 3&4 plus many more gaming classics plus it was many peoples first DVD player. The PS2 is the best selling home console of all time with 150 million units sold world wide, that’s a whole lot of people ready to say goodbye to this legendary piece of gaming hardware! Soon it’ll be viewed as a classic console linked with unforgettable gaming memories.
