The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is big; with an appeal as wide as the game is long, hundreds of hours continue to be sunk into the mystical land on a daily basis. QuakeCon 2012 is also of considerable size. Because of its mass and focus on the PC as a gaming platform, it only makes sense that Bethesda Softworks would use the occasion to announce Dawnguard’s, an expansion on Skyrim previously available exclusively for the Xbox 360, availability on Steam.
Dawnguard sees players in contention or in conjunction with Harkon, the Vampire Lord on a mission to bring about the demise of the sun itself. New quests, locations, weapons, creatures, and a new faction help to further the expansion beyond its campaign premise.
Dawnguard is now available through Steam for play on the PC and on the Xbox 360 for the price of $19.99. An official confirmation of a launch date for the PlayStation 3 version has yet to be given.
