The journey required to produce such upcoming titles as New Super Mario Bros. 2 has been a long one with its roots implanted firmly in Nintendo’s first portable system. Before the Game Boy, the idea of being able to take an experience like Super Mario Bros. on the road was little more than the pipe dream of a population bent on filling in the many voids of an average day. With the Game Boy, the idea became a reality with the release of Super Mario Land, the first of the Italian plumber’s many handheld adventures that is now available at a discounted rate of $2.99 in celebration of the Nintendo eShop’s Month of Mario.
Super Mario Bros. isn’t alone in its portable ambitions that see it beyond a traditional home experience; 3D Solitaire takes the world’s number one distraction to a new dimension this week with its release on the Nintendo eShop. The week’s other new release, The Lost Town – The Jungle, may not be as firmly ingrained in the popular culture, but its mysterious pretense and placement in the Amazon Jungle are sure to find an audience of their own. A complete list of this week’s offerings follows below.
