
Epic Games has sold a minority stake in the company to Tencent Holdings in China.
Terms of the deal have not been released, but you can expect a good amount of money was transferred around. Epic has said that they will still “operate independently and seek to further expand its game franchises across multiple platforms.”
The deal will also let Epic possibly have an easier time expanding to China in the future if they’re interested.
Meanwhile, Tencent continues to buy stock in companies in the U.S., with the biggest purchase before this coming from buying stock in Riot Games.
