
Things keep looking worse for 38 Studios.
Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee held a sudden press conference yesterday, reports WPRI, where he said the company has not received any outside investments besides what the state gave them. He added that they are trying to prevent the studio from closing down.
WPRI also reported that CEO Jennifer MacLean removed the chief executive title from her LinkedIn profile and listed a March departure date.
Meanwhile, employees have not been paid since May 1, and their health care is set to end at midnight tonight.
A source told Joystiq that the “outlook is not good.” for the studio to be open next week still.
