Just the other day, I was excitedly gawking at the fact that the PlayStation Vita was soon to become home to such pre-established experiences as Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Today, I’m excitedly gawking at the fact that the Nintendo 3DS is now home to the most pre-established experience of all: Game & Watch.
Young players may know Game & Watch (3DS) best for his work as a punching bag in Super Smash Bros., but his glory days belong to a time long before games in which blue hedgehogs beat the spit out of electrically-charged rats existed. Game & Watch Gallery 2, a title being added to the 3DS eShop today, takes players back to the booming era of the 1980′s with a collection of five games in both their classic and modern interpretations.
Elsewhere in the marketplace, Snakenoid Deluxe (3DS, DSi) tasks players with controlling a snake on the bottom screen upon which they must bounce a ball that travels to the top screen and destroys a collection of pesky boulders. Also available is a free update to Mighty Switch Force! (3DS) that includes five new stages, improvements to the stereoscopic nature of the original levels, and a retry button. As for non game-related applications, this week’s update to the Nintendo 3DS eShop includes a 3D trailer for the upcoming animated film Madagascar 3.
All titles and trailers listed above are now available on the 3DS eShop or on DSiWare.
