Activision has paid $42 million to the Infinity Ward Employee Group that sued the company in 2010.
According to Polygon, the payment is not a settlement for the profits from Modern Warfare 2. Instead, the company found that the members were not in breach-of-contract with Jason West and Vince Zampella and agreed to pay them.
However, the attorney for the group, Bruce Isaacs, said that the group sought $75-$125 million in the lawsuit, and that “although it is a meaningful payment it is only a small portion of what we are seeking in litigation.” Because of this, the litigation is still going forward.
Isaacs went on to add that the payment was a “cynical attempt to look good before the jury trial.”
