If you haven’t already heard, QuakeCon will begin Thursday, August 24th 2011 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX at 9:00 AM, and will continue until Saturday. The event will feature public demos and exclusive playable content for all attendees. Astoundingly, the event is FREE for general admission, thanks to the generosity of Bethesda Softworks (I love you guys…but why are you suing Interplay?) and the event staff. Please note: Quakecon 2011 actually opens Thursday August 4th, and continues until Saturday August 7th.
Part of the reason it’s free is because it’s mostly volunteer organized and run. Anyone can volunteer. It can be the best way to meet the nicest and most interesting people at Quakecon. Stop by and see me at the Volunteer Desk and we’ll get you started!
