I have to agree. Plus I’m awful at rockband/guitar hero XD. Real guitar seems way easier to me o_o.

I always thought Rock Band and Guitar Hero did a decent job with somewhat matching up the guitar to the real deal fret wise in a way. Obviously the real deal is 100 times harder and more rewarding.

I gotta disagree, somewhat. As any guitar player can attest, after about 3 months of guitar lessons, most people can play over 90% of the songs that are played on the radio, seeing as most of it is just power-chords. Conversely, if you’ve never played GH or RB before, it would also take you months of practice before you could play this song 100% on expert.

And to me, real guitar is really only more “rewarding” if you actually get to play on stage in front of a live audience, which a lot of guitar players don’t get the chance to do. Believe me, playing guitar for Torture and getting to open for bands like Exodus, Prong and Overkill are some of the most memorable moments in my life. But for those that never got that kind of opportunity, RB is a decent simulation of that experience.
